Stained

I received fine linens as a wedding present. I had never seen such quality bed sheets and kept them on my bed all the time. When they became threadbare, I couldn’t throw them away.  Instead, I cut them up and covered 30 small wooden panels with them. I then placed fat blueberries and sliced beets in between them and put a weight on top of the pile.  After a week, I separated the panels and admired the stains that the food left on the fabric. Using graphite and other organic materials, I began creating images around the stains, incorporating them into the composition.
